Sagacity Consulting has been delighted to work regularly with BHC, a major affordable housing provider in Brisbane.  Australia faces enormous challenges in social and affordable housing and these require novel approaches and courageous execution.  Strong partnerships, clever strategy and commercial disciplines are important ingredients in the solution mix.

Relevant projects we have undertaken

  • Performing the role of operations controller for an affordable housing company for 9 months.  A major element of our consultant's work was to review and reform service practices around the tenancy management functions of the company.  This was within the context of the company as the constructor and owner of the low rent housing with commercial real estate agents and community housing organisations contracted as housing managers.

  • Evaluation of a State Housing Department's Program of Community Housing Management which provided funding to employ Indigenous support workers to assist in the development of housing staff working for Indigenous Councils across the State.  Our consultants conducted a full program evaluation.

  • Facilitating strategy workshops with the Board of the leading supplier of affordable housing in Queensland

  • Reviewing the organisational arrangements for a State disability services agency particularly in the context of significant budget growth over 3 budgets and changes or potential changes resulting from initiatives including:
    • Legislative changes to the agency
    • An independent review of secure care
    • A review of the business model for the agency including changes to its regional structure.
  • In collaboration with Brisbane Housing Company, reviewing the modelling of a program of affordable housing for the West Australian government and providing advice on the broad design of a program.

  • Conducting a Strategic Planning Workshop for the Board and senior executive of a Gold Coast Housing Company.
