Other Government Agencies

Less bureaucracy and more immediate demands to get things done often characterise GOCs and Statutory bodies.  Sagacity Consulting has cleverly put them together and pulled them apart, and has advised on every strategic and operational aspect of them.  Our consulting team understand what is needed and what clients want, and then help them with ways to get there.

Relevant projects we have undertaken

  • Reviewing the skills, structure and capacity of the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland (ADCQ) to ensure that it could meet the demands of its new strategic direction.  Our consultant helped clarify the new strategic direction, made practical recommendations on skills, structures and capacity and provided an implementation plan built on sound change management principles.

  • Assisting the Director-General of a State Attorney-General's department to review the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.  The State Premier had sought the review to address issues around resourcing.  Our consultant worked with the Director-General to develop sound strategies for the conduct of the review and for the resourcing of the Office.  Both these aspects were critically important in this complex project.  Our consultant also met regularly with the Director of Public Prosecutions throughout the review to affirm the Director's leadership role coming out of the review.

  • Conducting an independent investigation involving a serious and acrimonious dispute between the Chair and the CEO of a major statutory body.  Our consultant investigated allegations from both parties, and effectively resolved the matter in a very short time.

  • Providing advice to a bulk resource port authority on succession planning.  Because of the small size of the authority but the enormous scale and demands of its projects, our consultant had to develop a novel and practical approach.

  • Leading strategic and business planning workshops for the executive and management team of Queensland's first tier performing arts statutory body.
